Altrad Generation - Glasgow South

Altrad Generation - Glasgow South is part of a business that began in 1978 as Generation Building Equipment LTD. In 2012, it became part of the Altrad Group, establishing Altrad Generation Hire & Sales. The company acquired DESSA LTD in 2015 to supply the Uni-Roof Temporary Roof System.

It supplies scaffolding, fencing, groundworks, edge protection, safety, and light access products for domestic, commercial, and industrial uses. The company operates a national network spanning the UK and Ireland. The Glasgow South branch is situated in Rutherglen, West Scotland, and serves the entire Glasgow metropolitan area and beyond. Kevin Balmer is the Branch Manager of the Glasgow South branch.

Altrad Generation - Glasgow South draws feedback from customers in Rutherglen and the wider Glasgow area, and the accounts left by those who have dealt with the branch centre on the helpfulness of the people in the yard and behind the counter. Several reviewers describe staff as approachable and willing to sort out requests, with one naming Mary as particularly adept at organising materials and keeping orders in order.

An aspect raised across a number of reviews is the professional and friendly manner of the team, which customers link to a well-run site where health and safety is given proper attention. Visitors report that they were able to obtain everything they needed, suggesting a dependable supply of scaffolding and access equipment rather than a limited stock.

The yard itself is described as tidy and well organised, with its position near the M74 making collections straightforward for those travelling by road. Reviewers also note that the branch has remained alert to health and safety practices, a detail that recurs in accounts of visits. The recurring theme across the feedback is a branch that customers find easy to deal with, where named members of staff such as Mary are remembered for their help in arranging materials.
