Palmer Access

Palmer Access is a family-run company founded in 2016 and is part of the Palmer Group. It provides truck-mounted platforms and tracked boom spiders with fully trained operators. The company serves clients in construction, telecoms, renewables and maintenance sectors. It covers all of Scotland, from the Borders to the Highlands and Islands, and also covers the north of England. Every operator holds IPAF and CPCS certification.

All platforms are maintained and inspected under LOLER regulations. Nicholas Palmer is Managing Director, Graeme Palmer is Business Support Manager, Steven Gerrard is Business Development Manager, and Mandy Wood is Operations Controller. Operators prepare risk assessments and method statements where required. Palmer Access provides fully operated truck-mounted platforms and tracked boom spiders for work at height.

Access equipment supplied by Palmer Access in Glasgow earns consistent praise for the reliability of the machinery and the professionalism of the team behind it. A number of customers describe long-standing relationships stretching over a decade, returning for platforms of every kind, from truck mounted MEWPs to the aerial lift needed to reach brittle branches carrying BT fibre cables above a medium ash tree. The recurring theme is that the fleet performs without trouble, and that operators arrive on site ready to solve access problems rather than simply deliver kit.

Reviews time and again mention the operators and support staff as a pleasure to work alongside, combining a high standard of work with an easy, good-humoured manner that customers say reflects well on the company. A can-do attitude comes up often, with one account of a tree surgeon who called after spotting the wagons around Glasgow and found the team willing to discuss the job, visit the site and take on an awkward removal that could not be climbed safely. That blend of dependable equipment and approachable expertise is what prompts customers to keep returning across the United Kingdom.
