Universal Access & Power Plant Ltd

Universal Access and Power Plant Limited was established in 1981 and is a small independent family business. It has been a member of the Hire Association of Europe (HAE) and the National Merchant Buying Society (NMBS) for many years. Its technicians and drivers receive regular training days, product releases, and seminars from Makita, NTC, and Worksafe, and are fully trained in respect of all equipment offered for hire. It offers P.A.T. testing and certification.

It provides on-site services and product deliveries across the local area from Swindon to Aylesbury. Its customer base includes government organisations, schools, universities, maintenance contractors, cleaning companies, builders, specialist fitters, and the general public. It offers hire or purchase of access equipment, alloy towers, breaking and drilling equipment, site security, power tools, and access towers, as well as PAT testing, repairs, and servicing.

Hire equipment and access solutions for trades and private users in Oxford are the focus here, and the feedback centres on the range of stock and the experience behind it. Customers writing about their orders describe taking mixers, vibrating plates, Stihl saws and alloy towers for a house refurbishment, while others hired floor sanders and edge sanders that produced a good finish on wooden floors. The journey from first enquiry to delivery comes across as straightforward, with clear guidance on operating the machinery and items arriving when promised, including a specialist platform brought early for a plumbing repair.

Several accounts note the helpfulness of staff, with Julian and Sonja singled out for their plant knowledge and their readiness to source the right item at short notice. Quick responses and patient instruction on the tools form another recurring theme. A theme running through the feedback is the sturdiness and quality of the equipment, alongside fair pricing, friendly service, help loading items into vehicles and a generally hassle-free experience, whether for power tools, a dehumidifier or scaffolding requirements.
