Height for Hire (Belfast)

Height for Hire has nearly 40 years' experience in the access business. Harry Mc Ardle is the Founder and Chairman. He was the first buyer of the Genie Z-30/20 in 1986, the first importer of the Genie S-85 in Europe in 1995, and the first buyer of the Genie Z-135 in the British Isles. The company has 20 locations across 4 countries: Ireland, the UK, Hungary and Slovakia.

It secured an order for 6 JLG boom lifts on the Aughinish Alumina site in Limerick in 1982/1983. It originally tested the UK market with a depot in Scotland during the 90s, and rolled out 4 depots in the UK during the noughties in Manchester, London, Newcastle and the UK Midlands. Easi UpLifts opened its first Hungarian depot in Győr in 2013, and the company has a presence in Slovakia with depots in Bratislava and Košice. The Belfast depot offers access rental and training services including cherry picker hire, scissor lift hire, operated truck mount hires, van mounted hoists (self drive) hire and safety training.

Height for Hire offers IPAF Training Courses. It offers access machinery service and repair. All machines have a QR code system containing the plant number, Certificate of Thorough Examination, machine specifications, contract details and quick start guides. Height for Hire developed an in-house closed loop total service solution called SRM, with all service records recorded digitally in one central location. Since January 2015, 94% of Height for Hire customers are promoters, giving an overall NPS score of 94.

Industrial equipment supply forms the core of this Belfast operation, which also covers scaffolding and access hire from its base in Newtownabbey. The branch supplies apparatus for construction and industrial work, a role reflected in its classification as an industrial equipment supplier. Its stated services bring together access platforms and scaffolding provision, with the depot positioned to serve trade and commercial customers across the surrounding area.

Opening days are limited to weekdays, and the premises remain closed at weekends. The company operates from Blackwater Road, where the focus falls on equipment supply and the hire of access solutions for building and maintenance tasks. That combination of access hire and industrial equipment supply defines the offering recorded for this location.
