Toucan Hire Services

Toucan Hire Services is a tool and plant hire company founded in 1977. It is a family-run, local and independent business that has been under new ownership since 2022. The company is part of CCF Plant Hire Limited and trades as Toucan Hire Services, part of CCF Plant Hire Ltd. It covers Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, operating from Guardian Road Industrial Estate in Norwich and a depot in Rackheath Industrial Estate.

The depot team has over 80 years combined experience. Equipment carried includes floor sanders, cement mixers, compactor plates and cherry pickers. It provides tool and plant hire.

Plant and machinery hire in Norwich is where this firm's reputation has been built, with customers returning for tools and access equipment across repeated jobs. Several reviewers name Richard, describing him as approachable, well informed and attentive to what each task requires, including one occasion when a smaller breaker than originally reserved proved the better choice. The same helpful manner is reported from the office and on delivery, with machines loaded and unloaded without difficulty.

Competitive rates are a recurring theme, with collection and delivery included in the value customers describe, while communication stays clear from the first enquiry through to the return of the item. The range covers breakers, a 20-metre cherry picker, a lawn aerator, a rotavator, a log splitter, a floor sanding kit and cable chasing tools, all said to be well maintained and straightforward to operate. Reliability and tidiness recur in accounts of larger access equipment and repeat hires, with regulars noting they have borrowed various items over time and keep coming back, indicating a consistent standard rather than a single good experience.
